Star Wars fans, it’s official: Andor will wrap up its story with just two seasons on Disney+. And while some viewers might be disappointed, lead star Diego Luna is fully on board with the decision.

In a recent chat with TechRadar, Luna shared his thoughts on the upcoming second season of Andor and Disney’s choice to end the series. According to Luna, the team behind the show—including showrunner Tony Gilroy—feels grateful they got the chance to tell the complete story they wanted to tell.

“From the beginning, we knew what we wanted to do,” Luna said. “Structurally, the plan changed because we soon realized we couldn't commit to five seasons. It takes a lot of energy, time, and money to make one, because each season takes two and a half years of our lives.”

Originally, Andor was planned to run for five seasons, ultimately connecting directly to the events of Rogue One. However, the production cost turned out to be incredibly high. A report from Forbes last year revealed that the first two seasons of Andor cost around $645 million to produce. With Disney looking to cut costs under CEO Bob Iger’s leadership, continuing beyond season two became unrealistic.

Luckily, Gilroy came up with a creative solution. While filming season one, he suggested condensing the entire four-season arc into just one more season with 12 episodes. Luna called it “a great idea.”

This final season will use a unique storytelling format. It’s split into four blocks, with each block covering one year in the timeline leading up to Rogue One. Each year will be told across three episodes, giving every mini-arc enough space to shine.

“A lot of shows start without knowing where or when they're going to end,” Luna said. “But from beginning to end, we told the story we wanted to tell—and that's a beautiful thing to be able to do.”

Despite fans wishing for more, Luna seems at peace with how things turned out. He emphasized the importance of telling a full, satisfying story rather than stretching it out unnecessarily. And with season 2 expected to bring a powerful conclusion, there's still a lot to look forward to.

Andor Season 2 premieres on April 22 in the US and April 23 in the UK and Australia, exclusively on Disney+.

BURU, Indonesia – A shocking incident rocked the Buru Regency in Maluku, Indonesia, after the treasurer of the local General Elections Commission (KPU), identified as RH (48), allegedly set fire to the office in an attempt to destroy documents related to the 2024 regional election (Pilkada) funds worth Rp 33 billion.

The fire broke out in the early hours of Friday, February 28, 2025, at around 2:50 AM local time. It completely destroyed the office’s pre-service training room and archives section.

According to Buru Police Chief, AKBP Sulastri Sukidjang, the motive behind the arson was to eliminate financial accountability documents.

“The motive was to destroy the financial accountability report documents,” Sulastri said on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

RH did not act alone. He instructed two other men, SB (45) and AT (42), to carry out the arson. They reportedly doused the floors and ceiling with gasoline and kerosene before setting the place on fire. The perpetrators accessed the building through a back window opened by RH.

All three suspects have been arrested and are charged under Article 187 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, facing up to 12 years in prison.

Police are still investigating the case further to determine if any other parties were involved in the incident.

Buru, Maluku – Police have finally revealed the mastermind behind the arson attack on the Buru General Elections Commission (KPU) office. The fire, which occurred in late February, was allegedly orchestrated by a treasurer identified as RH (48), who hired two men, SB (45) and AT (42), to carry out the act.

Buru Police Chief AKBP Sulastri Sukidjang stated that RH played a dual role as the mastermind and supplier of the materials used in the arson.

“Treasurer RH acted as the brains behind the arson and provided the logistics. The executors were AT, assisted by SB,” said AKBP Sulastri on Sunday (April 20, 2025).

RH supplied kerosene and four jerry cans of gasoline, which were then handed over to SB and AT. The two men entered the KPU office through a rear window that had been unlocked beforehand.

Once inside, they poured fuel across the floor and ceiling before setting the building on fire at the opportune moment.

Interestingly, the executors were not paid for the job. Instead, they claimed to have committed the act out of a sense of indebtedness to RH.

“We are still investigating the case further to determine whether there are other parties involved,” added the Police Chief.

All three suspects are now facing charges under Article 187 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, carrying a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.

As previously reported, the fire broke out at around 02:50 AM local time on Friday, February 28, at the KPU Office located on Jalan Masjid Agung Namlea, Namlea District. The incident destroyed the pre-service room and archive room.

Banten, Indonesia – A land scam case has surfaced in Banten, where a 56-year-old man identified by the initials DS has been officially named a suspect by the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the Banten Regional Police. DS allegedly sold a piece of land that he falsely claimed was his, when in fact, the land legally belongs to a company named PT Arta Lingga Manik.

This deceptive scheme came to light following a police report filed by Dedi Haryadi, a member of the Banten Provincial Parliament from the Gerindra Party. The case has been officially registered under the report number LP/B/181/VII/2023/SPKT II.DITRESKRIMUM/POLDA BANTEN, dated July 25, 2023.

How the Fraud Unfolded

According to the police, the transaction took place around June 2020 at two popular locations in Serang City—a local fish soup restaurant near Alun-Alun (the town square) and a coffee shop called Kopi Jalu, located on Jl. Abdul Hadi in Kebon Jahe.

At that time, DS convinced the victim to buy a 2,551 square meter plot of land located in Nagara Village, Kibin District, Serang Regency. Acting on DS’s claims, Dedi Haryadi assigned Sarja Kusuma Atmaja to carry out the payment on his behalf, amounting to IDR 386,500,000 (approximately $24,000 USD at the time).

However, once the payment was made, the victim was unable to gain control over the land. Not long after, PT Arta Lingga Manik sent a legal notice (somasi) asserting that the land was their registered property, backed by an official Building Use Rights Certificate (SHGB).

This confirmation proved that DS was not the rightful owner, and the sale was fraudulent from the beginning. As a result, Dedi Haryadi became a victim of fraud and embezzlement, with a total financial loss of IDR 382,650,000.

Legal Consequences for the Suspect

Police Commissioner Dian Setyawan, Head of the Criminal Investigation Directorate at Banten Police, stated that DS has been charged under Article 378 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (regarding fraud) and Article 372 (regarding embezzlement). If convicted, DS could face up to 4 years in prison.

"This is a clear example of how important it is to verify land ownership before making any purchase. Just because someone claims to own land doesn’t make it true. Always check the legal documents thoroughly," said Commissioner Dian during a press conference on April 17, 2025.

According to Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of the Narcotics Crime Division at Bareskrim Polri, the meth was being smuggled into Aceh via a small boat.

Boats like the one used in this case are commonly used by smugglers because they can navigate remote coastal areas without drawing attention.

The success of this bust is also thanks to the support of local communities who provided valuable tips. Police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

“We can’t fight this battle alone. We need the community to be our eyes and ears on the ground,” Brig. Gen. Eko emphasized.

The three suspects are now facing serious charges under Indonesia’s Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or even the death penalty, especially for cases involving large quantities of drugs.
