Pontianak – The spirit of care and solidarity was once again demonstrated by the Pontianak Police Department. On Monday (April 28, 2025), through Public Relations Officer AKP Wagitri and the PR staff, the Pontianak Police Department delivered aid to Sri Sundari, a media partner from Suara Anak Kolong, who is currently undergoing treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital due to illness.

This donation symbolizes the Pontianak Police Department's attention and moral support to media partners, especially those facing difficult times.

"On behalf of the entire Pontianak Police Department family, we express our concern for Sri Sundari’s condition. We hope this small gesture can lift her spirits and help ease her burden during recovery," said AKP Wagitri when handing over the donation at Bhayangkara Hospital.

Besides providing the aid, AKP Wagitri and the PR team also offered prayers for Sri Sundari’s speedy recovery so she can return to her activities soon. Their presence was a meaningful show of support for both Sri Sundari and her family.

The Vital Role of Media in Society

During the visit, AKP Wagitri also emphasized the crucial role that the media plays as a strategic partner of the police in building positive communication with the public. According to him, the media not only reports events but also serves as a bridge between the police and the community, delivering important information, education, and public advisories.

"Media partners are a vital part of building public communication. Without them, much positive information might not reach the community. Therefore, we deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication of journalists like Sri Sundari," added AKP Wagitri.

The Pontianak Police Department hopes that acts of kindness like this will strengthen the good relationship between the police and media professionals. Support efforts such as providing aid are seen as important ways to show that the police and the press are true partners in serving the community.

Pontianak Police Department’s Commitment to the Press

This is not the first time the Pontianak Police Department has extended support to the press. Previously, they have provided various forms of assistance and care to media colleagues, especially during times of illness or hardship.

Through activities like this, the Pontianak Police Department continues to demonstrate its commitment to maintaining strong relationships with all sectors of society, including the media partners who have long contributed to the police’s public service efforts.

We wish Sri Sundari a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back in action. Stay strong—your friends, colleagues, and many others are rooting for you!
