Kendal Regency – The Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (Wamen ATR/Waka BPN), Ossy Dermawan, visited the Kendal Regency Land Office (Kantah) on Saturday, April 26, 2025. During this visit, Deputy Minister Ossy emphasized the importance of precise, accurate, and rule-abiding land management to all officials at the Kendal Land Office.

In his address, Deputy Minister Ossy reminded everyone that every decision made in land management can significantly impact many people's lives. Therefore, precision and caution must be prioritized.

“What we do here can affect many people. Every step must be based on truth and applicable regulations. We need to work quickly, but we cannot sacrifice precision. We must never let speed outweigh the care and accuracy required,” Deputy Minister Ossy stressed to all the staff at Kendal Land Office.

He also emphasized that land management goes beyond administrative tasks; it concerns protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring fair processes. By being thorough and accurate, the potential for land disputes in the future can be minimized.

Land Management Must Provide Real Benefits for the Community

Deputy Minister Ossy hopes that land management in Kendal will continue to improve over time. He reminded the Head of the Land Office and the entire staff that they hold significant authority in managing land and spatial planning in the region.

“I ask all of you here to do your tasks as best as possible. What we manage here is not just paperwork, but the future of many people. If we work with precision and fairness, the benefits will be directly felt by the people of Kendal,” said Ossy.

According to him, the Kendal Land Office should serve as an example in creating professional, transparent, and community-oriented land management practices.

Innovative Services: PELATARAN and Drive Thru Get Praise

Before giving his remarks, Deputy Minister Ossy took a tour to directly observe various land services available to the public at Kendal Land Office. One notable feature was the PELATARAN service and the Drive Thru service.

The Drive Thru service for picking up land certificates is especially unique, being the only one of its kind in Central Java. Deputy Minister Ossy greatly appreciated this innovation, as it allows the public to collect their certificates more quickly, conveniently, and without leaving their vehicles.

“This Drive Thru service is exceptional. It makes things so much easier for the public, and what’s even better is that it’s being managed independently. This should definitely be a model for other regions,” Ossy remarked with enthusiasm.

With services like this, the process of land administration becomes more modern, quick, and accurate. This innovation is also seen as a significant support for the government's efforts to improve public services based on digitalization and fast delivery.

Attended by Several Key Officials

Deputy Minister Ossy's visit to the Kendal Land Office was also attended by several important officials, including:

  • Rezka Oktoberia, Special Staff of the Minister of ATR/BPN for Agrarian Reform

  • Ajie Arifuddin, Expert Staff in Administrative Affairs and Good Governance

  • Luh Widasari Ossy Dermawan, Deputy Chair of Ikawati ATR/BPN

  • Yetti Lampri, Chairperson of Ikawati BPN Central Java Province

  • Officials from the Regional Office of BPN Central Java Province

The presence of these officials underscores the central government's commitment to encouraging local Land Offices to continually innovate and improve the quality of their services.

Proper Land Management is the Key to Regional Progress

What Deputy Minister Ossy Dermawan conveyed is truly profound. Good land management isn’t just about paperwork, it’s about how a region can grow in an orderly, secure, and sustainable way.

Consider this: if there are many unresolved land disputes, it would impede investment, slow down infrastructure development, and create legal uncertainty. On the other hand, if all land matters are managed well, regions like Kendal can attract new investments, accelerate infrastructure development, and ultimately enhance the welfare of their people.

That’s why precision and accuracy in land management are so important, as emphasized by Deputy Minister Ossy.

Digital Innovations and Hope for Better Public Services

The Drive Thru service and other innovations developed by the Kendal Land Office demonstrate that public service transformation in land management is already in progress. Innovations like these need to be further developed, especially in this digital age, where people demand services that are faster, easier, transparent, and user-friendly.

If other Land Offices around Indonesia could follow the example of Kendal, the face of land service in our country would be much more modern and trustworthy to the public.

A Spirit of Change for Better Land Management

Deputy Minister Ossy Dermawan’s visit and remarks mark an important moment for the Kendal Land Office to continue improving and innovating. The key message is clear: speed is important, but precision is far more critical.

By prioritizing accuracy, precision, and integrity in every aspect of land management, the Kendal Land Office will not only build public trust but also support the creation of more advanced and fair regional development.

We hope this spirit of change can continue to inspire other Land Offices across Indonesia!
