Hello, MotoGP fans! The third round of the 2025 MotoGP season just took place at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in the United States on Monday, March 31, at 2:00 AM WIB.
The race, originally set for 20 laps, was shortened to 19 and took place under dry conditions.
Race Recap
Marc Marquez, riding for the Ducati Lenovo team, started the race in dominant fashion. After securing pole position and winning the sprint race earlier, he quickly built a lead of more than two seconds over his closest rival.
However, drama unfolded on lap nine when Marquez crashed at Turn 4, a moment reminiscent of his unfortunate incident at the same circuit back in 2019.
Although he attempted to continue, the damage to his bike was too severe, forcing him to retire from the race.
This opened the door for Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia to take the lead. The Italian rider seized the opportunity and maintained his position until the checkered flag, securing his first victory of the season.
Behind Bagnaia, Alex Marquez, Marc’s younger brother, delivered an outstanding performance to finish in second place.
This result not only earned him a podium finish but also propelled him to the top of the 2025 MotoGP standings with a total of 87 points, just one point ahead of Marc, who now sits in second place.
Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio from the VR46 Racing team completed the podium by finishing third, giving Ducati a clean sweep at the Americas GP.
