President Prabowo Holds Limited Meeting to Discuss the Sekolah Rakyat Program for Education Equality. |
Jakarta, March 24, 2025 – President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with several ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday. The meeting specifically focused on developing the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) program as part of the government’s efforts to ensure equal access to education across all regions in Indonesia.
The Sekolah Rakyat program is a direct initiative from President Prabowo to ensure that every Indonesian child, especially those in remote areas, receives quality education. The central government will fully support this program by providing teachers, educational facilities, and coordinating with local governments to ensure its successful implementation.
Full Support from the Central Government
Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, who attended the meeting, stated that the central government will play an active role in supporting the Sekolah Rakyat program. One of the main focuses is ensuring the availability of qualified teachers and collaborating with local governments to provide necessary infrastructure.
“President Prabowo initiated the Sekolah Rakyat program, and we will assist in recruiting teachers and coordinating with local governments. Currently, 53 Sekolah Rakyat schools are ready, and 184 regions have proposed new schools,” Tito Karnavian said to the media after the meeting.
He further explained that local governments are highly enthusiastic about the program. Out of the 184 proposed new schools, the land for construction is already available.
“The land for these 184 schools is ready, as the proposals came directly from the local regions,” he added.
Government’s Commitment to Equal Education Access
This limited meeting reflects the government’s strong commitment to expanding access to quality education, particularly in remote areas. President Prabowo emphasized that education is the foundation for developing a highly skilled and competitive human resource base.
With the Sekolah Rakyat program, the government aims to eliminate barriers that prevent children from receiving education due to a lack of facilities or long travel distances to schools. The government will continue working on practical solutions to ensure every child in Indonesia has equal learning opportunities.
The government also invites public participation and support for this initiative, whether through moral encouragement or other forms of assistance, to achieve education equality across the nation.
With these concrete steps, the Sekolah Rakyat program is expected to be realized soon, providing a practical solution for education equality in Indonesia. Hopefully, this initiative will ensure that every Indonesian child receives proper education, paving the way for a brighter future.
