Pontianak – In an effort to control inflation and stabilize food prices, the West Kalimantan Provincial Food Security Agency, in collaboration with the West Kalimantan PKK Team, organized the Affordable Food Movement (Gerakan Pangan Murah - GPM) at the Food Security Agency Office on Adisucipto Street, Pontianak, on Tuesday (March 25). The event received support from various parties, including the West Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalbar), which was present at the opening ceremony.

The event was attended by key regional figures, including Ny. Dr. (Cand) Hj. Erlina Ria Norsan, S.H., M.H., Chairwoman of the West Kalimantan PKK Team, and Ir. Herti Herawati, MMA., Head of the West Kalimantan Food Security Agency. Additionally, members of the West Kalimantan Food Task Force (Satgas Pangan Polda Kalbar), the Deputy Chair of the Pontianak PKK Team, the Chair of the Kubu Raya PKK Team, and representatives from various districts also participated.

Providing Affordable Food for the Community

The Affordable Food Movement aims to provide food at lower prices, ensuring that essential goods remain accessible to the community despite recent price surges. This initiative is part of the government's strategy to control regional inflation and maintain the purchasing power of the people.

A variety of food products were offered at prices lower than market rates, helping people to buy daily necessities more economically. Here are some of the products available at the event:

1. PT. Top Indo Niaga Nusantara

  • Gajah Brand Rice (5 kg) – IDR 60,000 per sack

  • Gulavit Sugar (1 kg) – IDR 14,000 per pack

  • Rose Brand Cooking Oil (1 liter) – IDR 16,000 per pack

  • Papa Koki Salt (500 gr) – IDR 5,000 per pack

  • Palmia Margarine (200 gr) – IDR 6,000 per pack

  • Marjan Syrup (460 ml) – IDR 19,500 per bottle

2. Kios Pangan Mandiri - West Kalimantan Food Security Agency

  • SPHP Package (SPHP Rice 5 kg, Rose Brand Sugar 1 kg, Rose Brand Cooking Oil 1 liter) – IDR 96,000 per package

  • Local Package (Local Rice 5 kg, Rose Brand Sugar 1 kg, Rose Brand Cooking Oil 1 liter) – IDR 89,000 per package

3. PT. Charoen Pokphand

  • Frozen Chicken – IDR 32,000 - IDR 49,000 per pack

  • Frozen Duck – IDR 54,500 - IDR 59,500 per pack

  • Bahien Brand Rice (5 kg) – IDR 77,000 per sack

  • Rose Brand Cooking Oil (1 liter) – IDR 20,000 per pack

  • Rose Brand Cooking Oil (2 liters) – IDR 40,000 per pack

4. Rajawali Nusindo

  • Minyakita Cooking Oil (1 liter) – IDR 15,700 per pack

Polda Kalbar’s Role in Price Monitoring

During the event, Kombes Pol Dr. Bayu Suseno, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., Head of Public Relations for the West Kalimantan Regional Police, stated that the Food Task Force (Satgas Pangan) is actively monitoring the Affordable Food Movement to ensure smooth distribution and prevent price speculation that could harm the public.

“We fully support this program as a concrete step to control inflation and ensure that people have access to affordable food. We will also continue to monitor the distribution of food products to prevent any irresponsible parties from taking advantage of the situation,” said Kombes Pol Dr. Bayu Suseno.

How the Affordable Food Movement Benefits the Community

This initiative is expected to help lower-income families access essential food items at more reasonable prices. Moreover, it showcases strong cooperation between local government agencies, community organizations, and security forces to improve the well-being of West Kalimantan residents.
